SCRIPTURE – The Bible (all 66 books, inclusive) is the true, living Word of God, expressing Gods plan of salvation through Jesus Christ. It is the absolute standard, relevant to all our concerns and daily challenges.
THE ONE TRUE GOD – There is one God, who has revealed Himself as existing eternally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
THE NATURE OF JESUS CHRIST – The Lord Jesus Christ is the only eternal Son of God. The scriptures declare: His virgin birth; His sinless life; His miracles; His willing sacrificial death on the cross for our sin and for our salvation; His bodily resurrection from the dead; His ascension to the right hand of God; His imminent return to earth.
MANKIND – God originally created mankind in His image, good and sinless, enjoying open relationship with Himself and commanding them to be fruitful and multiply. God Himself created them male and female, instituting the covenant of marriage. We believe that marriage is a creation of God, not men. He established it, the union of one man and one woman, to be a life-long covenant and to serve as the foundation of healthy families and societies. We believe human life begins at conception and the unborn child is a living human being. We are committed to protecting and enhancing the quality of life of all persons from conception to natural death. Man chose to disobey God, causing sin to enter all people, separating us from His presence. Therefore, each one must recognize their own sinfulness, their need of a Savior, and their need for repentance in order to be restored to that original relationship.
SALVATION THROUGH JESUS CHRIST – Man’s only hope for redemption is through believing in Jesus Christ alone: that He suffered and died on the cross as a sacrifice necessary for our eternal salvation, and that God raised Him from the dead. There is no other name under heaven by which we may be saved.
THE HOLY SPIRIT – The Holy Spirit is God in action today. It is given to Him to convict of sin, righteousness and judgment to come. No one can say Jesus is Lord unless the Spirit reveals it to him. He is the seal of ownership placed at the time of salvation, giving us a certainty of being in God’s family and of being preserved until we finally enter our eternal home with Him. He provides the gift of grace to all believers for the building up of the church, produces fruit in the lives of believers, and empowers believers to proclaim Christ and to live for Him. He is our Teacher, Comforter and Guide.
THE CHURCH – The Purpose: God chooses to work through His church as His primary representative in the world today. He has commissioned us to preach the good news of Jesus Christ to the nations; to teach and mentor new believers; to baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. He commands us to dwell together in unity, to assemble regularly together to worship, to study and to be encouraged, and to participate in the Lord’s Supper as we remember all that he has done for us; The Preparation: To prepare us for this task, He has given the church the people gifts of apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists and teachers who strengthen and equip His people. Jesus continues today to baptize believers with the Holy Spirit to empower them for witnessing. In addition, the Spirit gives each believer ministry gifts so that the church might function in an orderly, unified way.
In addition to the hundreds of volunteers who serve and make every Ministry at Crossroads possible, we also have a team that oversees the day-to-day operations of the church, our staff.
Crossroads additionally has an advisory board to the Ministry Staff. The Crossroads Management Team oversees areas within the parameters established by the Crossroads Procedural Manual including general marketing of church life, development of land usage and facilities, finance and budgets, human resources and administration of governing documents.
